A day after announcing changes to the security checkpoints, the Transportation Security Administration released a clarification for the new procedures.

Starting May 5, TSA PreCheck travelers should use the main checkpoint, but non-TSA PreCheck travelers can use both checkpoints.

When travelers arrive at the airport, they will be able to follow signs posted in the terminal explaining the changes and directing them to the TSA checkpoints.

The clarification from TSA was made after the airport received “several inquiries” regarding the change.

At the main security checkpoint, PreCheck travelers will receive expedited screening benefits as members, the initial release said.

Also, starting May 4, passenger screening checkpoints will be closed from 10:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. daily — and passengers will not be able to access the concourse or gate area of the airport.

Passenger screening canine teams will work in the checkpoint area to help speed up screening process, according to TSA.
