Pittsburgh police: Lincoln-Lemington man faces 2 felony counts of animal cruelty

Pittsburgh police have charged a Lincoln-Lemington man with felony animal cruelty after discovering an emaciated, tick-infested dog outside his home.
Police responded to a complaint on Nov. 20 on the 1600 block of Broadhead Street, where they said they found an emaciated female dog with untreated wounds, bald spots and ticks, and without any food or water.
The dog did not respond to touch, according to police, and was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic where it died shortly after arrival.
At the time, police spoke with the dog’s owner, Gerard D. Walker, 23, at the scene. On Tuesday, an arrest warrant was issued, charging Walker with two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, one misdemeanor and one summary count each of animal cruelty, and six counts of animal neglect.
