Five teachers are among several staff members leaving employment with the Plum School District.
Retiring as of June 5 are high school teachers Rochelle Dunn, Doran Check and Amy Picard. Also retiring are O’Block Elementary teacher Martha Freese and Rich Bernardi, a teacher at the middle school.
Two administrative assistants have resigned and been replaced.
Carly Karns in facilities/print shop resigned Dec. 20, while Traci Seibert, special education, resigned effective Jan. 29.
Eleanor “Tess” Hempel was hired to replace Karns. Her salary will be $44,485. Dana Rataic will replace Seibert and be paid $45,661.
Their start dates will be determined by Superintendent Rick Walsh.
Other retirements are Donna Grasinger, cook manager, effective June 30; and food service workers Pablita Rozewicz, Kathleen Riggs and Tammy Bellovich, effective May 31.
Other resignations are Eric Gillis, math 9-12 department leader, effective Jan. 11; Eric Gillis, senior high student government sponsor, effective Jan. 11; Jenielle Doty, special education 7-12 department leader, effective Jan. 11; Robert Finney, director of facilities, effective Jan. 13; and Thomas O’Donnell, high school boys assistant lacrosse coach, effective Jan. 18.
Additional hires are Derek Schott, part-time custodian, as of Jan. 3 at $16.75 per hour; van drivers Emmanuel Beard and Thomas Miller, effective Jan. 22, and Kymberley Mullen, effective Jan. 24, all at $18 per hour; and Arlene Miller, food service worker, effective Feb. 1 at $15 per hour.
Lynda Stevenson was changed from a van driver to full-time bus driver effective Jan. 22 at $23.45 per hour.
