Plum library book sale
The Plum Library will be hosting an outdoor book sale April 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date will be April 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Masks and social distancing are required. A bag of books will cost $10.
Donations will be accepted April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items must be in good condition. Textbooks, encyclopedias and VHS tapes will not be accepted. There is a limit of two boxes per donation.
Oakmont comprehensive plan update
Oakmont officials plan to present an update to the borough’s comprehensive plan at a council meeting at 7 p.m. on April 19.
The plan was adopted in 2011. The goal is to have at least one more public discussion in the next few months and finalize it sometime in August or September.
Plum Borough Republican Committee meeting set
The Plum Borough Republican Committee (PBRC) will meet in the Plum Senior Community Center at 499 Center-New Texas Road on April 22 at 7:00 p.m.
The featured guest speaker will be former Wisconsin state legislator Frank Lasee, who is the founder of Truth in Energy and Climate. Their website is truthinenergyandclimate.com.
This meeting is open to all registered Republicans and provides a forum to meet with candidates, discuss issues, exchange ideas and enjoy fellowship.

Prescription drug collection
The public can drop off potentially dangerous prescription medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the Plum Borough Council chambers, 4575 New Texas Road.
In partnership with the DEA, the Plum Borough Police Department will collect tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps and illegal drugs will not be accepted. The DEA will continue to accept vaping devices and cartridges at its dropoff locations provided lithium batteries are removed.

Women’s Business Network meetings
The Murrysville Chapter of the Women’s Business Network holds regular meetings from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. The next meeting will take place April 22. For more information, contact Katrina Burkett at 412-856-5250.
The All Virtual Chapter holds regular meetings via Zoom from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The next meeting is April 21. Guests are welcome to attend at no cost. For more information, contact chapter representative Jennifer Pasquale at 412-908-1663.

Plum cleanup day set for April 24
The Borough of Plum will holds its fifth annual community cleanup day from 8:30 to 10 a.m. April 24 at the Plum Borough Works Facility, 2001 Old Mine Road.
To participate, you must register by email. Send your group name and expected number of participants to plumcleanup@plumboro.com.
