Benefit event at Plum High School
Plum Senior High School and Rachel’s Challenge will host the ninth annual Stuff-a-Bus toy drive from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at the high school bus lot.
Students, school staff and other volunteers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. There will also be face painting, crafts and hot chocolate.
Organizers are hoping to collect more than 2,000 toys.
Drop-off boxes are also at each school.
Plum School District’s annual Stuff-a-Bus event benefiting Toys for Tots is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at the high school, 900 Elicker Road.
Road to Bethlehem presented by Plum church
Travel on the road to Bethlehem during ther Living Nativity to be presented from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9 and 10 at the Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek, 550 Center New Texas Road, Plum.
The journey starts in the church and continues outside as you experience the story of the birth of Christ and finally find him lying in the manger. It is about a 20-minute outside journey. The road to Bethlehem is paved and accssible for strollers and wheelchairs.
Refreshments around a bonfire will be served following the journey. Please dress warmly. Admission is free.
Cinebrunch features ‘The Grinch’
Plum’s family-friendly Cinebrunch event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 9 in the banquet hall at the borough building, 2000 Old Mine Road.
Featured is a showing of “The Grinch.” Hot chocolate, coffee and donuts will be provided.

Council meeting change
Plum Borough Council will meet Dec. 13, a Wednesday, instead of its regularly scheduled second Monday of each month.
The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. instead of 7. Public comment is welcome for those who sign up to address council
Plum school concerts
Concerts by several Plum Borough School District musical groups are scheduled, all starting at 7 p.m. at the high school:
High School Choir, Dec. 12; Holiday Park Elementary School, Dec. 18; High School Band, Dec. 20; and High School Orchestra, Dec. 21
Riverview school concerts
Concerts by Riverview School District musical groups are scheduled. All start at 7 p.m. at the Tenth Street Auditorium, 901 Pennsylvania Ave., Oakmont:
• Winter Elementary Band/ Orchestra, Dec. 12
• Winter Elementary Chorus, Dec. 14
• Junior-Senior High School Jazz Band Dress Concert, Dec. 19
• Junior-Senior High School Chorus Dress Concert, Dec. 21
The Riverview High School Music Department Road Show is planned for Dec. 18. Musicians will travel to Verner and 10th Street elementary schools to perform.
Free Christmas brunch
Holy Family Parish will host a free Christmas brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 25 at two parish locations: Our Lady of Joy Church Hall, 2000 O’Block Road, Plum, and St. Joseph Church Hall, 825 Second St., Verona.

You also are welcome to join a Christmas Day Mass at any Holy Family Parish church. At St. Joseph Church, Mass is at 9:30 a.m., and at Our Lady of Joy, 10:30.

AARP Christmas party
Plum AARP will hold its Christmas Party at Jaden’s II on Dec. 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The entertainment will be The G Boys.
Plum AARP is a social club open to residents of Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and surrounding communities. Each meeting offers free cake and coffee or tea, plus entertainment or a speaker.
