Garden hosts story time

Verona Community Garden, in partnership with Oakmont Carnegie Library, is offering summer story time from 11:30 a.m. to noon weekly on Wednesdays from June 7 through July 26 at 246 W. Railroad Ave.

Stories will be geared toward children ages 1 to 5. Contact veronagardengrows@gmail.com for more information.

Military Connections yard sale

Nonprofit Military Connections will host its annual indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at Living Word of Plum Church, 200 Elicker Road.

Gently used goods can be donated to the sale by emailing militaryconnections@hotmail.com. They will be accepted by appointment through June 7. Televisions and adult clothing will not be accepted.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit’s care-package project. For more, see militaryconnections.org.

Movies in Railroad Park

The Verona Parks and Recreation Board Movies in the Park series continues with “Aladdin” (1992 version) on June 9, starting at dusk in Railroad Park, 737 E Railroad Ave.

On the schedule are “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” July 21; “Ready to Rumble,” Aug. 11; “The Empire Strikes Back,” Sept. 8; and “Hocus Pocus,” a special Halloween drive-in event.

Plum Class of ’63 reunion

Plum High School Class of 1963 will hold a reunion on Sept. 2 at John Anthony’s Restaurant, 115 Center New Texas Road, Plum.

The event begins at 4 p.m. and continues until a specified time. Attendees are requested to reserve their spots by July 15. The cost per person is $40.
