Holy Family Knights of Columbus Council 4242 is donating 48 new winter coats for students at elementary schools in the Plum and Riverview school districts.

Coats are being distributed to students through the assistance of the elementary guidance counselors at both school districts.

Coats for Kids is one of the many charitable programs that the Knights of Columbus conducts to help the community.

Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization, with more than 1.7 million members, including 65,000 in over 500 councils in Pennsylvania. The organization is open to men 18 and older who are practicing Catholics.

Council 4242 was chartered in June 1956. Many of the members serve in their parishes as lectors, ushers, cantors, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teachers, choir members and in other capacities.
