A portion of Route 286 in Plum will be restricted to one lane starting Tuesday night, PennDOT officials announced Monday.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane between Old Frankstown Road and Hileah Drive as crews work through the night. Restrictions will happen from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, and 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Work includes repaving, concrete patching, base repairs, upgrades to drainage and guiderailes, and painting. A PennDOT spokesman said the lane restrictions will last until November.

Plum-based A. Liberoni Inc. will perform the work on Route 286, which is part of a $4.8 million paving job that includes others in Monroeville, Pitcairn and Wilkinsburg.

The overall project is expected to finish by early December.
