Police say a 22-year-old man traveled more than 200 miles by bus from Charleston, West Virginia to Moon and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in a motel room.

Dustin Lee Marshall is charged with various felony sex crimes, including statutory sexual assault, possession of child pornography and corruption of minors.

Moon police were called April 26 to America’s Best Value Inn on University Boulevard for a reported domestic violence incident. Arriving at the motel room, police said they found a juvenile female and Marshall.

Marshall initially gave a false name and claimed he was 17 before the juvenile confirmed his actual age and identity, according to police.

He later admitted to police that he and the minor had been “dating” for seven months and their relationship was sexual, according to the complaint. Marshall also claimed to have met the girl’s father and grandmother who, police say, were unaware of his actual age.

The 22-year-old claimed to be homeless, and police said he provided them with two Arizona IDs. Marshall told police he was “selling his body” online by sending explicit photos and videos to customers on social media, according to the complaint.

Upon searching Marshall’s phone, officers said they found images and videos of sex acts between Marshall and the juvenile and “adult content” Marshall claimed to sell.

Officers said they also discovered other possible victims that appeared to be young girls, though their ages and identities remain unknown.

In Marshall’s search history, police say they found queries like “age of consent in PA” and “is it against the law for a 18 year old ‘own’ a 15 year old?”

Police also charged Marshall for the possession of a THC vape pen.

Marshall is currently awaiting his preliminary hearing, which is set for June 3.

Though District Judge Michele Santicola initially released Marshall on nonmonetary bond, she revoked his bail Wednesday morning.

When TribLive contacted Santicola about the revocation, her office said she was not available to speak to a TribLive reporter because she was on the bench.

Marshall is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
