Police investigating shooting at Frankstown Avenue and Wheeler Street in Homewood

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night at the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Wheeler Street, in Homewood.

While responding to a Shotspotter alert for the 8000 block of Frankstown Avenue about 7:55 p.m., officers were notified of a man with gunshot wounds nearby. They found the man at the 900 block of Blackadore Street with multiple wounds in his chest.

Medics transported the man to the hospital in critical condition.

Zone 5 officers found evidence of a shooting. The Mobile Crime Unit arrived and processed the scene. According to Public Safety, there were no other injuries or suspect descriptions.
