Police: Man critically injured after being stabbed in neck during Beltzhoover fight

A man was stabbed in the neck during a fight early Friday in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, according to a police spokesman.

Officers from the Zone 3 station responded to the 700 block of Montooth Street shortly after 5:30 a.m., police said.

Emergency responders found a man with a stab wound to the neck and took him to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

A second man believed to have been involved in the altercation was detained by police at the scene.

Officers from the Mobile Crime Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence for the investigation. No arrests have been announced.
