A Fayette County teen was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Springfield Township.

County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker said his office pronounced 17-year-0ld Nicholas Herman of Springfield Township dead after responding to the crash at about 4:15 p.m.

Additional details of the wreck weren’t immediately available from authorities.

Danny Leighty, organizer of a Go Fund Me drive to raise money for Herman’s funeral expenses, described him as “a great kid who deserved more time on this earth to live his life.”

As of Monday evening, the drive had raised more than $2,200 toward a goal of $5,000, to help Herman’s parents, Elizabeth and Jim.
