Two men and a woman’s unborn child died in a three-vehicle crash in Indiana County Saturday, state police said on Sunday.

The crash on Warren Road in Center Township happened shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday.

State police said Daniel L. Ryan, 57, of Indiana and Nathan S. Blystone, 34, of Kent, drivers of two of the three vehicles, died at the scene.

Ashley N. Layton, 33, of Kent was a passenger in Blystone’s car. She suffered serious injuries and was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Her unborn child was pronounced deceased, state police said.

According to state police, Ryan was driving an SUV east on Warren Road at high speed when he failed to negotiate a right curve, traveled into the westbound lane and hit a car driven west on Warren Road by Denton L. Shively, 31, of Indiana.

Ryan’s SUV then hit Blystone’s car head-on. Blystone was directly behind Shively.

Ryan’s SUV left the road, hit an embankment and overturned. After being hit by Ryan’s SUV, Blystone’s car was pushed off the road and overturned two times, state police said.

Ryan and Blystone were not wearing seat belts, state police said.

Shively, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, state police said.
