A Beaver County man has been charged with more than 700 counts of sex-related offenses stemming from alleged assaults on a boy over several years.
Daniel Vogel, 61, of Midland is charged with corruption of minors and multiple counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with forcible compulsion, rape of a child, rape with forcible compulsion, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault and indecent assault without consent.
The boy told authorities the man molested and assaulted him over a number of years, beginning when the boy was as young as 8 and ending in 1997, when he would have been 16, according to a complaint filed by Beaver County Detective Michael Kryder.
The boy said, as he got older, he realized he was being abused but was forced to participate in the encounters by being pinned to the ground and choked, Kryder said.
According to the complaint, Vogel told investigators that he didn’t force the boy to participate in the encounters.
Vogel is in the Beaver County Jail after failing to post $950,000 bail. He is awaiting formal arraignment in Beaver County Common Pleas Court after the charges were held for court by District Judge Alex Korol.
