A groundhog is looking to make a name for itself after being rescued from a claw machine at a Blair County frozen custard shop.

The Meadows is taking suggestions for a name for the animal that is in line to become the third-most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania. A $25 gift card is up for grabs in the naming contest, according to a post on the frozen custard stand’s social media page.

The groundhog was spotted inside the Meadows Family Fun Mini Golf claw game early July 30 by a minigolf attendant, according to the Altoona Mirror. Its head is visible among stuffed animals and toys in photos captured of the ordeal.

Pennsylvania Game Commission reported the groundhog had somehow found its way inside the machine. Warden Salvadore Zaffuto contacted the owner of the machine, DeLeo Games of Altoona, to unlock it and managed to capture the creature with the help of oversized padded gloves, commission officials told the Altoona Mirror.

It was released unharmed into a local field.

“Wildlife can find itself in unique predicaments, and this is one of those times,” Game Commission Lt. Amy Nabozny told the news outlet.

It’s unclear how long the naming contest will last.

Suggestions so far on the post include: Col. Custard, Scoop, Fluffer Nutter, Custer and Chance.
