A Fayette County man was jailed Thursday in connection with a fatal stabbing in Redstone Township.

State police said Sylvester K. Conaway Jr., 54, of East Millsboro, is accused in the death of Shawn Hriscisce, 24, at a home in Redstone Township.

Conaway was denied bail. He is charged with homicide, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.

Hriscisce was found dead around 12:20 a.m. Thursday outside a home on Hilltop Avenue, not far from Grindstone.

Troopers said a second person was stabbed in the arm and was treated at a hospital and released. That person, who police did not name publicly, was cooperating with investigators.

Police said the stabbing happened during an argument that evolved into a fight. Conaway was arraigned late Thursday night. He was being held at the Fayette County jail. A Feb. 14 preliminary hearing is set.
