A Friday morning incident at an Indiana County school bus stop that authorities initially deemed suspicious was not an attempted child luring, according to state police in Indiana.
The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. in Clymer, where a girl reported she was approached by an unknown man while waiting for her school bus near the intersection of Spring Avenue and Penn Street, also known as Route 403. The girl indicated a northbound SUV on Penn Street stopped, and a man inside rolled down the window and asked her if she wanted some candy.
According to police, the girl fled and reported the encounter to her mother, who called 911.
Police conducted additional interviews as part of an “extensive investigation” and determined that the passing motorist did not attempt to lure the child and that there is no cause for alarm, according to Trooper Clifford Greenfield.
