Indiana scammer to pay refunds for phony NFL, concert tickets

Indiana ticket broker Victory Ticket sold phony tickets to NFL games and Pittsburgh-area concerts, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

The state Attorney General reached a settlement with an Indiana County business that repeatedly scammed customers by selling phony tickets to NFL games and Pittsburgh-area concerts.

The settlement with Ticket Victory of Indiana, owned by Brian Plowcha and operated between 2015-2018, will pay back more than $24,000 in consumer restitution, $3,500 in costs and a $10,000 suspended penalty.

Anyone who made a purchase and did not receive a valid event ticket may be entitled to restitution and can file a complaint by Sept. 21, 2020, at AttorneyGeneral.gov, or call 800-441-2555.

“Ticket Victory’s failure to provide valid tickets to consumers who paid for them resulted in frustration, embarrassment and disappointment for impacted consumers,” Shapiro said. “This company put on a show of selling real products to Pennsylvanians, but never delivered.”

The settlement also shuts down Ticket Victory and permanently prohibits Plowcha from conducting any online ticketing business.
