Memorial Day weekend weather could go in 2 different directions, forecasters say

Pittsburghers might want to wait a few days before solidifying their Memorial Day plans.
The forecast for the next few days shows highs reaching 79 degrees and sunny skies, but there is some uncertainty for what direction the weather will head for the Memorial Day weekend.
The Pittsburgh office of the National Weather Service said the forecast for the holiday weekend could go in two divergent directions, so holiday weekend revelers might not want to book that pool party just yet.
The weather service said one possibility for the upcoming weekend is that slow-moving low pressure forms in the Upper Ohio Valley and keeps weather cooler and cloudier over the Pittsburgh area. This could also bring rain showers for much of the three-day weekend.
Or, high pressure could continue to form over the area and the sun stays out and the temperature increases, the weather service said.
While we still will be mainly dry through the work week, there are a few locations that stand the small chance for a shower and/or t-storm on Tues and Wed. There is still quite a bit of uncertainty for the Memorial Day Weekend but a slight chance of rainfall is present currently. pic.twitter.com/9D601XmivM

The weather service said it will be best to prepare for the possibility of some rain, but it could end up being a perfect weekend for barbecues.
“We know that isn’t satisfying, but it’s the forecast reality right now,” the Pittsburgh office of the National Weather Service tweeted. “Stay tuned as details become clearer and we can identify which becomes more likely!”
