The fire was reported shortly after 4 a.m. in Youngwood. A county 911 supervisor said all of home’s occupants were able to exit the house, but one person was transported by ambulance.

Teens charged with vehicle thefts
Three teens were charged Wednesday by Pittsburgh police with a string of vehicle thefts that took place earlier this week.
Detectives located one of the stolen vehicles Tuesday, an unoccupied Toyota Sienna on Rentz Way near Grimes Avenue, in the city’s Knoxville neighborhood. As they watched the vehicle, police saw three men walking toward it.
Police activated their emergency lights and identified themselves, prompting all three men to run in separate directions.
All three were taken into custody following a foot pursuit, according to police. Jose Rivera-Montes, 19, was charged with resisting arrest and fleeing to avoid apprehension. The other suspects, who are 16 and 17 years old, were charged with resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, carrying an unlicensed firearm and fleeing to avoid apprehension. The 16-year-old was released to juvenile probation officers for detention and the 17-year-old was released into his father’s custody.
Rivera-Montes has a June 18 preliminary hearing in Pittsburgh.
Police said they are also investigating the three teens’ possible connection to several recent armed home invasions.
Man jumps from burning home
A man trapped by a Sheraden house fire Wednesday evening sustained a broken leg when he jumped from a second-story porch roof, police said.
Fire crews were called to the 1000 block of Tweed Street at 7:10 p.m. Ten minutes later, the fire had spread to a second home, prompting additional companies to respond.
An adult male was inside the first home to catch fire. Pittsburgh police said the man came out a second-floor window onto the porch roof, where he jumped to the ground as first responders arrived.
He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Police said the cause was determined to be a cooking fire. It was brought under control around 8 p.m.
