2 injured in house fire in Allegheny Township
One person was injured in a house fire early Friday in Allegheny Township.
Firefighters from multiple stations in the All-Kiski Valley responded to the fire around 12:40 a.m. in a 1½-story home in the 4500 block of Garvers Ferry Road, according to emergency dispatchers.
Two occupants in the home suffered smoke inhalation, the dispatcher said, but only one of them was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Units from Allegheny Township, New Kensington, Arnold, Lower Burrell and Leechburg were among the departments that responded to the fire, which was extinguished shortly after 1 a.m.
Parkway North HOV lanes now open
The High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on Interstate 279/579 are now open, according to PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan.
The lanes were inaccessible for part of Friday morning after the gate allowing access to the lanes malfunctioned, Cowan said.
Repairs to the gate were completed.
Pittsburgh police seek tips on missing man
Detectives from the Pittsburgh police Special Victims Unit are asking for the public’s help locating a missing and at-risk man.
Raheem Sani, 23, was last seen around 8 p.m. Wednesday near Forbes and South Braddock avenues in Pittsburgh. He was said to be wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
