Morning Roundup: No injuries in Home Depot fire in West Mifflin

Pleasant Hills firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at the West Mifflin Home Depot on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

No injuries in Home Depot fire

Pleasant Hills volunteer firefighters quickly knocked down a fire in the rear of the Home Depot in West Mifflin Sunday night.

Crews were called to the store around 11:30 p.m. and discovered a fire in the loading dock area, which was being kept in check by the sprinkler system. Firefighters extinguished the fire and assisted in closing off the sprinklers once it was out.

Firefighters said all employees were able to exit the building and no one was injured.



Car pulled from Yough River

No occupants were found in a car that was reported seen in the Youghiogheny River Saturday night in South Huntingdon.

Emergency and water rescue crews were called to Lowber-Sutersville Road shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night. Callers to 911 reported seeing headlights underwater.

No one was found in the car, a Kia SUV that was eventually pulled from the water.
