Shooting at Rankin apartment building
Allegheny County Police are investigating a shooting reported early Tuesday at a Rankin apartment building.
Police said they were dispatched for a report of gunshots about 1:35 a.m. to Palisades Manor Apartments.
A short time later, a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire crashed at the intersection of Hawkins and Fifth avenues, which is about two blocks away, police said.
No injuries have been reported.

Crews battle fire in Butler County
Multiple crews responded to a fire early Tuesday in Franklin Township, Butler County.
The fire was reported about 2:30 a.m. along Route 422, which connects Butler City, the county seat, and New Castle in Lawrence County, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
The fire continued to burn for at least two hours, WTAE reported. Route 422 remained closed in the area at about 6 a.m.
No one has been hospitalized in the fire. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Franklin Township’s volunteer fire company did not return phone calls seeking comment.
Man injured in shooting in Garfield
A man was wounded Monday in a shooting in Garfield, Pittsburgh police said.
Police said they were dispatched about noon to the intersection of North Winebiddle Street and Gem Way.
First responders found a man who had been shot in the foot, police said. He did not cooperate with police on the scene.
The man was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
The police bureau’s violent crime unit is investigating.
