Some students in the Seneca Valley School District will have a two-hour delay because of a lingering power outage caused early Thursday.
Evans City Elementary and Evans City Middle School will operate on a delay, according to a message posted to the district website.
About 500 homes and businesses in the area are without electricity after a vehicle crash involving a utility pole, according to West Penn Power.
Emergency crews responded to the call at about 3 a.m. on West Main Street, WPXI reported.
One person was taken to a hospital with a minor injury.
Police are rerouting traffic away from downed power lines on Route 68 so repairs can be completed.
Crews are expected to restore service by about 8:30 a.m.
Evans City kindergartners should adhere to the following schedule: morning session should arrive by 10:55 a.m. and will be dismissed from 12:43 to 12:50 p.m.; afternoon session should arrive by 1:37 p.m. and will be dismissed from 3:25 to 3:45 p.m.
