No word yet on next year’s tuition, but Pitt students will have to dig deeper to cover student fees this fall.
University officials recently approved a $50 a semester increase in student wellness fees. The increase, which will boost wellness fees from $130 to $180 a semester, has been earmarked for an expansion of Pitt’s mental health program, its collegiate recovery addiction program and the establishment of a financial wellness and literacy program.
The University Times reported that the extra money will help underwrite the addition of weekend and evening hours at the University Counseling Center and the development of a Suicide Prevention Program.
Students at Pitt’s Oakland campus also will see their activities fee increase from $80 to $100 a semester. The recreation fee for students at Pitt’s Johnstown campus will increase from $65 to $76 per semester.
