Ski season to start Saturday at Hidden Valley Resort
The ski season will begin Saturday at Hidden Valley Resort in Somerset County.
Operated by Vail Resorts, Hidden Valley will offer skiing from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
The slopes will be closed on Monday, reopening on Dec. 20 for the season’s regular hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.
On opening day, the first eight chair lift riders will receive gift codes for Helly Hansen, which specializes in outdoor clothing for skiers.
Seven Springs Mountain Resort, an additional Vail site in Somerset County, had its opening weekend Dec. 6-8 and will reopen 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Closing again for the beginning of the following week, it will begin regular season operations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 20.
An opening date has yet to be set for the nearby Laurel Mountain Ski Resort, also operated by Vail, atop the ridge between Ligonier and Jennerstown.
