State police seek 2 men accused of dragging trooper fleeing traffic stop in Fayette County
A Pennsylvania state trooper was pulled a short distance and fell to the ground in Uniontown early Sunday when two men drove off during a traffic stop.
Police have issued arrest warrants for Michael L. Monroe, 24, the alleged driver of the vehicle, and his passenger, Joshua E. Linnen, 24.
The incident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on Clark Street at the Coolspring Street intersection. Both Monroe and Linnen are from Uniontown, according to Trooper Anthony Vittone.
Police indicated the trooper was not seriously injured.
After Monroe allegedly drove off, Vittone said a short police pursuit followed, but was called off when troopers lost sight of the fleeing vehicle. Troopers said the vehicle was recovered a short time later, but neither Monroe and Linnen were located.
Vittone said both men have active arrest warrants.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to phone police at 724-439-7111.
