Steamfitters Union accepting apprentices June 3-22

The Steamfitters union 449, Pittsburgh, will be accepting apprentice applications June 3 through 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the union’s Technology Center in Harmony, Butler County.
Applicants need to allow 30 minutes to fill out the application on site.
The union has provided a checklist, available online, on materials applicants need to bring.
Official transcripts for high school or post high school or a G.E.D. certificate can be mailed in advance to The Steamfitters Technology Center, 230 Wise Road, Harmony, Pa. 16037. G.E.D.’s must show marks of testing.
There is a $50 application fee that can be paid in cash or money order made payable to Steamfitters J.A.T.C. Personal checks will not be accepted.
When applicants visit the Technology Center, they will be directed to an area to fill out their application. Upon completion, applicants will be given a notice as to where to appear for their written examination.
The written examination will be held July 20 and 21.
Qualifications and Requirements include U.S. citizenship and residency within the territorial jurisdiction of Steamfitters Local #449, which includes the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie and Forest; parts of Greene, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, Warren and Washington counties and the cities of Arnold and New Kensington in Westmoreland County.
Applicants must be 18 years of age at time of application.
