The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced several upcoming project in the Pittsburgh region that will result in traffic disruptions and temporary lane closures.

Route 910 Bridge

Rehabilitation work on the Route 910 bridge over Deer Creek in West Deer Township is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 6 at 7 a.m.

Work will be done between Middle and Oak roads. In the first phase of the project, work will occur in “half widths” on the bridge with a single 13.5-foot wide lane controlled by temporary traffic signals.

Truck traffic will be detoured to Cedar Ridge and Middle roads.

During the second phase of the project, traffic lanes will be open on the bridge but the intersection with Middle Road Extension will be closed. A temporary roadway will be constructed to access the roadway.

Work includes concrete deck replacement, substructure repairs, drainage improvements and new guide rail and pavement markings.

Route 51

A road improvement project along Route 51 in Kennedy, Stowe, Robinson, and Moon townships will begin Tuesday, July 6.

Work will be done in the following locations:

• Fleming Avenue in Stowe to I-79 in Robinson (southern section)

• Thorn Run Road to Flaugherty Run Road in Moon (northern section)

Improvement work includes milling and paving, shoulder and base repair, drainage upgrades, guide rail improvements, signage and line painting.

Lane restrictions will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the southern section and weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the northern section.

Weekend work will result in single-lane closures in three and four lane sections, and single-lane alternating traffic in two lane areas.

Work on the northern portion of the project is slated to begin in August.

Route 65

Overnight road improvement work along Route 65/Ohio River Boulevard in Sewickley, Glen Osborne, Haysville and Glenfield is schedule to begin July 6.

Single-lane restrictions will occur in both directions of Route 65 between the Neville Island Bridge in Glenfield and Walnut Street in Sewickley from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday through June 2022.

Additionally, daylight work may occur between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Crews also may be on site during weekends.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained during construction.

Work includes milling and paving, guide rail and drainage upgrades, inlet adjustments, base repairs, curb ramps and signal updates.
