Hospital systems and clinics in the region have started offering drive-thru and walk-in covid-19 testing for patients and members of the public who meet certain conditions.

Here are the sites where testing is available in the region:

UPMC

UPMC will test “select, symptomatic” cases, according to the system’s website, at its site on Pittsburgh’s South Side. The address is 2310 Jane St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203.

The site is not open to the public. Patients must have a physician referral approved by UPMC’s infection prevention team and have an appointment to be tested.

Allegheny Health Network

Allegheny Health Network has four locations for drive-thru covid-19 testing: Monroeville, Bethel Park, Pine (Wexford area) and Erie. The testing is open only to patients who have been previously evaluated by a network-affiliated health care provider and who have a valid prescription.

Patients must obtain a test order by calling a doctor’s office or the network’s 24/7 Nurse Line. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, and the test is ordered, patients are given an appointment at the testing site.

The four network testing sites are located at:

• 12311 Perry Highway, Wexford, PA 15090
• 1010 Higbee Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102
• 4220 William Penn Highway, Monroeville, PA 15146
• 4247 West Ridge Road, Erie, PA 16506

Central Outreach Wellness Center

Central Outreach Wellness Center began drive-thru testing at its North Shore location last week. Beginning Monday, the center moved testing to the main parking lot of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s unclear how long the zoo testing site will remain open.

Testing will now continue at the zoo, and at the center’s Aliquippa location, at 2360 Hospital Drive, Aliquippa, PA 15001

The center’s testing is open to the public. Patients are asked to bring a photo ID and insurance card, but no patient will be turned away for lack of insurance or inability to pay.

Patients will be turned away if they do not meet criteria set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including severe symptoms, a history of recent travel or a compromised immune system.

Excela Health

Excela Health said last week the system is in the process of setting up drive-thru testing in Westmoreland County. Until a site is established, hospital officials are working with primary care physicians to administer tests, said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Carol Fox.
