The annual Hunger Advocacy Workshop will be held May 4 in the John Knox Room of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in East Liberty.

The workshop, titled “Better Nutrition, Better Tomorrow,” will offer advocacy training on hunger-related issues at local and international levels. The event, set from 9 a.m. to noon, is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Presenters will include Margaret Tran, regional organizer for Bread for the World, and Mim Seidel, a registered dietitian at Chatham University’s Falk School of Sustainability and Environment.

Tran will speak on legislative efforts, and Seidel will speak on “Nutrition and the First Thousand Days: Building Blocks for Success.” There also will be a panel discussion on letter-writing campaigns to Congress.

The workshop is sponsored by the Southwest Pennsylvania Bread team, a regional chapter of Bread for the World, an ecumenical, nonpartisan Christian nonprofit, and Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania.

To register for the workshop at 616 N. Highland Ave., visit http://bit.ly/breadworkshop2019 or call Joyce Rothermel at 412-780-5118.
