Delta Air Lines announced Friday that its nonstop route to Salt Lake City will return to the Pittsburgh International Airport this fall.

The route will open daily on a year-round basis starting Nov. 23, according to the airport’s publication Blue Sky News. Flights go on sale starting Saturday.

The outbound flight will depart Pittsburgh at 5:40 p.m. and arrive at Salt Lake City at 8:12 p.m. local time, and the return flight will depart Salt Lake City at 11 a.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh at 4:39 p.m. local time.

The route was in effect from 2018 until early 2020, when it was paused in the pandemic, the release said.

“We’re excited Delta is resuming its nonstop service to Salt Lake City, a Western market very popular with our business and leisure travelers,” said Bryan Dietz, senior vice president of air service and commercial development at PIT. “This is another huge win for PIT’s growing service portfolio to the Western United States market and an indicator of the region’s strong post-pandemic recovery.”

Blue Sky News said the estimated annual economic impact of the PIT-SLC route will be $16 million annually, which will support 155 direct and indirect jobs.
