Schenley Plaza will host 'Disability Pride PGH'

Pittsburgh comedian Gab Bonesso will perform at Disability Pride PGH on Aug. 25-26, 2023, at Schenley Plaza.

The nonprofit Disability Pride PA will host “Disability Pride: Weekend Under the Tent,” Friday and Saturday .

It will kick off Friday with the Oakland For All 9th annual Ramp Crawl, set for 4-7 p.m. at the Schenley Plaza, 4100 Forbes Ave. The evening will include recognition awards for Americans with Disabilities Act Champions, a pizza contest, ADA trivia, comedian Gabby Bonesso and a chance to visit with information and entertainment vendors.

On Saturday the festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade around Schenley Plaza, keynote speaker Rory Cooper, founding director and VA senior research scientist with the Human Engineering Research Laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh, and other speakers including Nyota Robinson, Cory Fraser, Libby Powers, state Rep. Dan Miller, and W.D. Christner. Stage performances include a stand-up set from Bonesso and musicians Ryan Gilfillian, The Elemental and Soul Raydio.

Individuals who need disability accommodations are encouraged to register in advance. There is no cost to attend.
