Antioch Baptist Church

Morning worship and praise service is at 10:45 a.m.

First Sunday Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. First Friday virtual bible study is at 6:30 p.m. A link is available on the website.

Beth Samuel Jewish Center

Beth Samuel Jewish Center offers weekly Shabbat services, family services once a month and Kabbalat Shabbat services online once per month. There is also Religious School every Sunday.

First Friday: Family Service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by an Oneg in the social hall.

Shabbat Morning Services: Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a Kiddush in the social hall.

Kabbalat Shabbat Services: Usually on the third Friday of the month, at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Contact the office for the link. This get-together frequently includes a visiting musician, cantor, rabbi or other noteworthy guest.

Grace Anglican Church

Join the church Sunday morning for a traditional service of Holy Communion at 10:15 a.m. Morning Prayer services are every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8 a.m.

Sewickley Presbyterian Church

Join us for worship this summer at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. Services are also live-streamed on the website.

Day on the Lawn rummage sale donation drop-off days will take place on Aug. 17 and Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. through noon. Visit the website for donation guidelines. The Day on the Lawn sale will be held on Sept. 7 and all proceeds are given to mission organizations.

There will be a Community Worship Service on Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. on the Faith House lawn. Churches from the Sewickley Community will be taking part in the service. All are invited to attend.

Sewickley United Methodist Church

The Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith; and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services. The church is a reconciling congregation and openly welcomes all people.

The United Women in Faith of the Sewickley United Methodist Church will host a Sale for Missions on Sept. 6 from 3-7 p.m. and on Sept. 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Previously owned treasures, including household items, seasonal clothing, shoes, books, puzzles and much more will be available. Enter through door 10 from the Thorn Street driveway. All proceeds from the sale are used to fund local, national and international United Women in Faith mission projects.

St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Nursery coverage is available for children at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is live-streamed on YouTube. Sunday School is on hiatus for the summer.

The Justice Ministry is leading a Fill-the-Backpack drive for local students in need. Parishioners may sign up to fill a backpack provided by the church with a suggested list of school supplies. Backpacks must be returned to St. Brendan’s no later than Aug. 11.

Children and teens are invited to bring their school tote bags to the annual Blessing of the Backpacks at the 10 a.m. service on Aug. 25. Afterwards, students will be invited to tie-dye a T-shirt to be worn the following week at the Sunday School Kick-Off. The kick-off will take place Sept. 8 between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The fun morning will revolve around the theme of peace, with a snack served mid-morning.

This month’s Taize will take place Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. in the chapel. The quiet, contemplative service invites reflection and meditation and provides relief to busy lives.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the nursery, which operates year-round during the 10 a.m. Sunday service, and to teach Sunday School, which resumes on Sept. 8.

St. Brendan’s Book Club will meet on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. to discuss “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride. The bestselling novel is a poignant look at relationships, redemption, racism and the American dream.

Sticks and Strings, the church’s fiber arts club, meets on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month. Anyone who knits, crochets, embroiders or works with other handheld fiber arts is invited to meet in the library at 6-8 p.m. for fun, fellowship and handcrafting.

Morning Prayer is offered at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday via Zoom. Bible Study is held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays via Zoom. Contact the office for links.

St. Matthews AME Zion Church

Services at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Visit the YouTube channel, @StmatthewsAmez1862, where services are streamed. The church’s Harvest Festival is set for Sept. 7.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Sunday worship is at 10 a.m.; Sunday school at 9 a.m. Weekly Bible study is at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the Edgeworth Eat’n Park.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

Regular weekend services are held Sundays at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Groups, classes and events for all ages and seasons include Bible Studies, single mom’s groups, memory loss support group, GriefShare and men’s and women’s service groups. Triumph Church

Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday evening online Bible study takes place at 6:30 p.m. (contact the church for Zoom information).

In partnership with the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Triumph Church is offering those in our community a diverse selection of grocery items focusing on fresh produce, dairy products and protein sources. Food will be distributed on the fourth Friday of each month from 6-7 p.m. Advance registration is required online at triumph1293.org. Register by Aug. 16 for pickup on Aug. 23.

A U.S. Military and law officer recognition service is Aug. 25 and the church picnic is Sept. 8.
