Deer concerns
Glen Osborne officials are researching ways on how to control the borough’s deer population.
Council is looking into recent changes to Pittsburgh’s deer-hunting program including the use of archery in additional parks.
The city last year launched a limited archery pilot program in Frick and Riverview parks. Thirty archers culled 108 deer and donated nearly 10,000 meals.
Glen Osborne Councilman Bill Monski said something like that would need to involve several neighboring municipalities in order to work for the borough. He also noted a lack of any resident complaints about deer.
Tom Huddleston, council president, said no official action has been taken. The matter remains a discussion item.
District plan highlights
Quaker Valley School District officials have announced progress to their comprehensive plan during this past school year.
A video showing the highlights was posted at youtube.com/@quakervalleysd .

The video is a little more than seven minutes long and narrated by district director of innovation Brett Slezak.
