Summer Soiree

Fern Hollow Nature Center’s annual Summer Soirée fundraiser is set for June 1 at the Sewickley Quarter. This year’s enchanting evening, the Tropical Summer Soirée, will transport guests to a lush tropical paradise while supporting environmental education and nature-themed programs for the community.

The evening will start with a VIP reception for 60 special guests from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The VIP reception will include an open bar, tropical appetizers and live Hawaiian music.

The event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with heavy appetizers, including a live kabob station, and a cash bar with tropical cocktails. Guests will enjoy a performance by dancers and a fire dance performance by Tuika’s Polynesian Island Magic before dancing the night away to DJ Sly and Amy from Arrow Will Entertainment.

For more information about the event, including sponsorship opportunities and ticket purchases, visit fhnc.org or contact Sam Capezzuto at sam@fhnc.org or 412-741-6136.

Sewickley Garden Tour

Sewickley Civic Garden Council’s 2024 Sewickley Garden Tour is set for June 14-15. Guests can tour the grounds of five spectacular gardens in Sewickley and Edgeworth. Keeping with the tradition, on Friday evening there will be a sampling of wine and hors d’oeuvres at each of the five gardens.

Proceeds from the Sewickley Garden Tour will benefit the SCGC, a nonprofit organization made up of the members of five Sewickley-area Garden Clubs and Sustainable Sewickley. SCGC is dedicated to civic beautification and sustainability, education on the maintenance and use of plants, and the conservation of park and public green spaces in the greater Sewickley area.

General admission tickets are $50 for the Saturday Event on June 15, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A garden preview event runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on June 14. Tickets for this event are $65.
