On July 4, Leetsdale Borough held its annual 4th of July celebration with a parade, food trucks, bouncy houses for the children, bands and an amazing Zambelli’s firework show at dusk.

Scott Zahner, chairperson of the 4th of July committee, said that this was a great day and he was very pleased with how the community supported the festivities. According to Zahner, here were at least four floats in the parade that were made by residents and many children decorated their bicycles, wagons, and other forms of children’s transportation.

The Quaker Valley High School marching band and cheerleaders also marched in the parade. The cheerleaders carried 4th of July balloons that were made by a local resident. Also included in the parade were elected figures from the borough and state, police cars, antique cars, jugglers, super-heroes, princesses, a mermaid, police and emergency vehicles and four different units of the Pittsburgh Syria Shriners including the Rode Rigs, Clowns, Camel Wheels and the Hillbilly Clan. Park activities included food trucks, bouncy houses for the children, jugglers, balloon artist, music by Michael Lindner and Monte’s Pythons. The day ended with a spectacular fireworks display by Zambelli’s Fireworks.

Zahner said that he was very proud of his 4th of July committee who really began working on this year’s 4th of July festivities in February and worked right up to the last week in June.

“Without this Committee, Leetsdale would not have had a 4th of July celebration. Every member of the committee worked extremely hard during the fundraising events and everyone had amazing ideas. I am truly blessed to have a committee like the one I have,” Zahner said. “I am extremely excited about next year’s celebration and I already have committee members coming to me with new fundraising ideas and ideas of what floats they want to put in the parade. I am lucky to have this committee and I thank everyone as well as the communities in Quaker Valley for all their support and encouragement.”

The 2025 4th of July festivities are scheduled for Friday, July 4, 2025.
