About 1,500 people came out to watch dozens of groups march and ride in the 131st annual Memorial Day Parade in Sewickley, borough officials announced.
People lined the sidewalks up and down Broad, Thorn, Grant and Beaver streets on May 27 to watch bands, veterans, first responders and many others honoring those who paid the ultimate price in service of the nation.
Participants included police, fire and EMS departments and mayors from Sewickley and surrounding communities, Quaker Valley High School marching band, Daughters of the American Revolution, Korean War Veterans Association of Western PA, Coast Guard Auxiliary, the River City Brass Band, Moon Area High School band, United Methodist Clock Tower Ringers, Syria Shriners and Quaker Valley Recreation Association members and players.
A service was also scheduled for May 26 at Sewickley United Methodist Church.
