Antioch Baptist Church

Beth Samuel Jewish Center

Beth Samuel Jewish Center offers weekly Shabbat services, family services once a month and Kabbalat Shabbat services online once per month. There is also Religious School every Sunday.
First Friday: Family Service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by an Oneg in the social hall.
Shabbat Morning Services: Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a Kiddush in the social hall.
Kabbalat Shabbat Services: Usually on the third Friday of the month, at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Contact the office for the link. This get-together frequently includes a visiting musician, cantor, rabbi or other noteworthy guest.

Divine Redeemer Parish Knights of Columbus is kicking off the Autumn season with a Fall Feast on Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the St. James Church parking lot. Hot dogs, hamburgers, Ricci’s sausage sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be available at a very reasonable price. Stop in while browsing the Farmers’ Market or heading to the Harvest Festival. All are welcome.
Divine Redeemer Parish celebrates weekend Masses on Saturdays, 4:30 p.m. at St. James Church and 5 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Aleppo. Sunday Masses are celebrated at 8 and 11 a.m. at St. James and 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary. Weekday Masses and Adoration are celebrated as well. Day on the Lawn rummage sale donation drop-off will take place on Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. through noon. Visit the website for donation guidelines. The Day on the Lawn sale will be held on Sept. 7 and all proceeds are given to mission organizations.
Sewickley United Methodist Church

The Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith; and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services. The church is a reconciling congregation and openly welcomes all people.
The United Women in Faith of the Sewickley United Methodist Church will host a Sale for Missions on Sept. 6 from 3-7 p.m. and on Sept. 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Previously owned treasures, including household items, seasonal clothing, shoes, books, puzzles and much more will be available. Enter through door 10 from the Thorn Street driveway. All proceeds from the sale are used to fund local, national and international United Women in Faith mission projects.
St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Nursery coverage is available for children at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is live-streamed on YouTube. Sunday School will resume on Sept. 8.
Children and teens are invited to bring their school tote bags to the annual Blessing of the Backpacks at the 10 a.m. service on Aug. 25. Afterwards, students will be invited to tie-dye a T-shirt to be worn the following week at the Sunday School Kick-Off. The kick-off will take place Sept. 8 between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The fun morning will revolve around the theme of peace, with a snack served mid-morning.
This month’s Taize will take place Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. in the chapel. The quiet, contemplative service invites reflection and meditation and provides relief to busy lives.
Conversation Friends is seeking volunteers for another year of ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Held on Zoom, the sessions help language learners practice their conversational skills. The 90-minute classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Contact the office if you’d like to help or learn.
St. Brendan’s Book Club will meet on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. to discuss “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride. The bestselling novel is a poignant look at relationships, redemption, racism and the American dream.
Sticks and Strings, the church’s fiber arts club, meets on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month. Anyone who knits, crochets, embroiders or works with other handheld fiber arts is invited to meet in the library at 6-8 p.m. for fun, fellowship and handcrafting.

The ASPIRE Ministry of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish invites Catholic Singles over 21 to join us Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. for the first event of the season. Rev. William D. Wuenschel, Pastor of St. Aidan Parish, will speak on the topic “Conversion – Reconciliation” His presentation will reveal the enrichment we gain in our faith from understanding the relationship of reconciliation to our complete conversion as Catholic Christians.
