Police respond after a shooting victim was found dead Saturday in a Swissvale apartment.

Allegheny County Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Saturday night in Swissvale.

First responders answering a 911 call shortly after 8 p.m. found the man dead in an apartment in the 7500 block of Dickson Street, according to police.

Officials said they were working to identify the victim, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

A person renting the apartment was alerted to trouble there and asked a family member to check in, investigators said. The family member found the apartment door unlocked and the dead man inside, according to police.

“Neighbors say they heard gunshots 30 minutes to 45 minutes prior,” Allegheny County Police Lt. Venerando Costa told TribLive news partner WTAE.

Police are seeking surveillance video from the area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the county police tip line. 1-833-255-8477 (ALL-TIPS).
