Pittsburgh’s summer of reptiles on the loose continues.

Mt. Lebanon police announced Sunday that an escaped iguana named Spike was found wandering on McNeilly Road. He was reconnected with his owner later that day, police said on Facebook.

The iguana was lost for nearly a week, said police.

“Spike is on her way home after a 6-day adventure in the wild,” police wrote.

It’s unclear how the iguana had managed to escape.

This is at least the third non-native reptile to roam the Pittsburgh area this summer. An alligator named Chomper was captured in the Kiski River in August after a weeklong search.

Residents of the Apollo area, where Chomper was found, said they spotted another alligator in the Kiski this past weekend.
