A small “construction-related” fire broke out late Tuesday morning on the roof of AHN Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

No one was hurt.

The fire, which was reported at 11:20 a.m., caused some smoke to enter the upper floors of the hospital through the building’s air handling system, Nikki Buccina, the spokeswoman, said.

Firefighters quickly contained the blaze at the hospital on Coal Valley Road.

“All patients and staff are safe, and affected floors of the hospital are currently being ventilated to clear any remaining smoke,” Buccina said.

The hospital is “diverting patients” temporarily from its emergency department, Buccina said.

Additional details were not immediately available.
