10 North Allegheny School Board candidates set to vie for 5 seats in November

All 10 candidates who entered the May 16 Primary for North Allegheny School Board are headed to the General Election in November to vie for five school board seats, according to unofficial Allegheny County election returns..
All 10 candidates cross-filed on Republican and Democratic ballots. State law allows school board candidates to do so because school board races are nonpartisan.
According to unofficial returns, with 100% of precincts reporting, these candidates were the five top vote-getters for the Democratic nomination: Elizabeth Warner, 4,845 votes; Anisha Shah 4,692 votes; Bob Gibbs 4,569 votes; Jamie Martinez, 4,490 votes and Sylvia Bonner 4,486 votes.
There were 75 Democratic write-in votes.
The unofficial winners, also with 100% of precincts reporting, for the Republican nomination were: Libby Blackburn, 3,492 votes; Mike Weniger, 3,453 votes; Marcie Crow, 3,252 votes; Kate Matz, 3,214 votes, and Janet Redwing Sidor, 2,990 votes.
There were 70 GOP write-in votes.
