Four people suffered minor injuries in a multi-car accident involving 12 crashes on I-376 near the Squirrel Hill Tunnels on Thursday night.

The westbound lanes of the Parkway East were shut down for a half-hour as state police began their investigation of the crash, according to Tpr. Melissa Bondarenka.

The crash was reported around 2:40 p.m. outside the tunnel in the westbound lanes of Interstate 376. PennDOT traffic cameras showed westbound traffic backed up past the Swissvale exit at 6 p.m., but after motorists began moving slowly toward the tunnel again as of 7 p.m., traffic was back to normal around 7:45 p.m.

Additional information was not immediately available. Bondarenka said troopers were still investigating the crash as of 10 p.m.
