Someone who purchased a Game of Life scratch-off lottery ticket at the Giant Eagle in Allegheny Township won $1,000 a week for life or a cash option of 1.04 million.

A million-dollar scratch-off ticket was sold at a grocery store in Allegheny Township.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials announced Wednesday a winning ticket for Hasbro’s “The Game of Life” was sold at the Giant Eagle, 41 Towne Center Drive.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Scratch-off tickets are randomly distributed throughout the state, with lottery officials learning of winning tickets only after they are sold.

“The Game of Life” is a $10 game offering top prizes of $1,000 a week for life annuity or a cash option of $1.04 million.

In February, a $200,000 jackpot winning Cash 5 ticket was sold at the same location.

Prizes must be claimed within one year.

The Pennsylvania Lottery is the only state lottery that directs all proceeds to programs that benefit older residents.

To date, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $33.8 billion to fund rent and property tax rebates, prescription assistance, senior centers and meals, transportation and care services.
