Two families were displaced by a Tuesday evening fire that left a Brackenridge residence heavily damaged.
Fire crews were called to the intersection of Stieren Avenue and Hathaway Lane around 6 p.m.
Pioneer Hose Company Assistant Chief Corey Jones said the rear of the building was already engulfed by the time they arrived. Heat from the fire began to melt the siding on the building next door.
“We had it knocked down in about a half-hour or so,” Jones said. “No one was injured, but there’s extensive damage throughout the building.”
Officials from the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. Stieren Avenue reopened to traffic shortly before 8 p.m.
