Amateur Astronomers Association throws more free star parties in Washington Township
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will throw two more free public star gazing parties this summer at Kunkle Park in Washington Township on July 27 and Aug. 3.
If conditions are right, brightly colored double stars will be visible as will be the beautiful star clusters of the Milky Way galaxy, the spectacular rings of Saturn and several of Jupiter’s moons and cloud details, according to John Doyle of the Amateur Astronomers Association.
The star gazing parties will start at dusk, weather permitting.
Kunkle Park is located behind the Washington Township Municipal Building, 285 Pine Run Church Road, which has an Apollo address if using GPS.
