A Brackenridge man who police say violated a court order to stay away from his estranged girlfriend when he hid in the back seat of her car and terrorized her has been ordered to stand trial.
On Oct. 16, state police charged Zeya Icquise Dixon, 26, of the 100 block of First Avenue with a felony count of stalking along with counts of unlawful restraint, defiant trespass and harassment.
Dixon was being detained in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond after his arrest.
Following a preliminary hearing Tuesday, District Judge J. Gary DeComo ordered Dixon to stand trial in Armstrong County Court, according to court records.
A state trooper wrote in a criminal complaint that Dixon’s estranged girlfriend reported that he violated a protection from abuse order issued by a judge when she discovered him hiding under a jacket in the back seat of her car when she was leaving for work.
The woman told police that Dixon told her to “act normal and drive away” or he would beat her, the complaint said.
She told police she drove a short distance to where Dixon’s vehicle was parked. She said he threatened to run her off the road if she tried to drive away as he got into his vehicle, according to the complaint.
The woman told police Dixon followed her to work and parked next to her and then repeatedly called and sent her text messages during the day, police said.
She told investigators that Dixon previously violated the PFA filed against him and told her that if he has to go to jail because of her, he will kill her, the complaint said.
In June 2022, Dixon pleaded guilty to two counts of felony aggravated assault filed by Harrison police, court records show. He was sentenced to two years of probation.
In May 2022, Dixon pleaded guilty to counts of defiant trespass and harassment and was sentenced to a year of probation, according to court records.
