Crews continued Monday night to battle a large brush fire that burned for more than 15 hours in Indiana Township, initial reports indicate.

The fire continued to spread and was an active scene as of shortly before 8 p.m., an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher said.

There were not any immediate reports of injuries or medics required because of the fire.

Initial emergency dispatched indicated the fire — which broke out shortly after 2 a.m. — was “progressing” as of 7 p.m. near the 4000 block of John Court.

Officials could not immediately be reached to comment on the size and scope of the fire or its cause.
