Formalwear and bling at bargain prices have arrived in Leechburg.

Get Dressed Formals, a formalwear consignment shop for ladies, relocated from Vandergrift to 153 Market St. in Leechburg this month.

Washington Township resident Michele Wehrle said she originally opened her store last year in response to customers seeking affordable formalwear.

Wehrle said shoppers can expect to receive individualized attention during one-on-one fitting sessions.

Prices start at $30, and there’s a large inventory of dresses under $100.

“There is never any pressure to purchase, and the maximum price set in the store is $400,” Wehrle said.

Bridal gowns, mother-of-the-bride, bridesmaid, prom, homecoming, cruise wear, college formals, holiday dances and other special-occasion dresses are there — along with shoes, accessories and jewelry.

Wehrle said she has welcomed shoppers from as far away as Uniontown seeking the perfect dress.

Look for brand new tags on bridal dresses upwards of $3,000, but with a $400 max price. Wehrle’s business mantra is “never pay retail.”

“I want girls to have the dress of their dreams,” Wehrle said. “Numerous Pittsburgh-area bridal and prom stores have consigned their brand new inventory with Get Dressed Formals.”

Get Dressed only consigns inventory 3 years old or less, maintaining current, relevant styles.

Wehrle noted several reasons for relocating her business from Vandergrift: more space, one-floor shopping ease, a highly visible street location and beautiful, large windows.

“Due to the overwhelming success of the business, the original location in Vandergrift became too small,” Wehrle said.

Leechburg Mayor Wayne Dobos said he recently stopped in to welcome Wehrle to the borough, and it pleased him to see the former Klingensmith’s Pharmacy store occupied after being vacant for months.

“I’m glad to have her store here in town, and I hope she does very well,” Dobos said.

Bridal dress sessions must be booked in advance, and formalwear suitable for most ages is in stock.

“I’ve dressed ladies from 11 to 70 years old,” Wehrle said.

Fifteen “Get It Girls” from area local high schools serve as volunteer models and brand ambassadors — posing in dresses, sharing store posts to their social media accounts and spreading awareness of the business in their communities, in exchange for discounts on store purchases.

“I love the new store, and the ‘girl power’ vibes are really there,” said Arwen Rak, Leechburg Area High School senior and “Get It Girl.” “With a group of girls with different sizes and body types, it really shows that any girl can be confident in any dress they put on.”
